Vintage Book Purses & Bags

I'm not one for usually writing a post about fashion but when I saw these bags and purses by Disaster Designs, I think I fell in love. These bags and purses are in the style of an old vintage book with an illustrated front cover and a beautiful 'The End' scroll on the back of the purse/bag. They even have pretty book page lining on the inside!

I came across these beautiful new accessories when scrolling through my emails, I found an email newsletter from Source Lifestyle ( a gorgeous little shop situated at Spitalfields - a must see if you ever visit). The shop is always filled with gorgeous bags, clothes, jewellery and some household accessories. When I first saw the email I questioned whether I needed a new purse but on reflection I think I will definitely be buying one.

You can not buy from Disaster Designs direct but it does supply many of those, what I like to call, 'quirky' shops - so you shouldn't have to go too far to find one. Or why not buy from Source Lifestyle and see what else you might find!

New Anna Griffin Products

Spring is definitely in the air today and there is no better way to celebrate the start of this new Spring season then by looking at some of Anna Griffin's new products. Recently in the UK Anna Griffin has appeared on QVC and at the moment it seems like this is the only place where you can get hold of a lot of her new releases (until HSN starts broadcasting in the UK! - we can only wish!).

Anna Griffin's new 'Grace' collection has the perfect combination of flowers and flourishes in beautiful pinks, greens and yellows that compliment the Spring season so well. Some of her 'Grace' papers can be found at some craft retailers, however I haven't been able to find the embellishments to match, so this perfect package of products sold on QVC is a fabulous buy, including 22 papers (12" x 12"), 2 packs of die cut embellishments and 2 3D sticker sheets (1 sheet of flowers and 1 sheet of words). You could definitely make a lot of cards and scrapbook pages using this kit!

Another great product from Anna Griffin are her challkboard style stamps. I bought a set of 30 from QVC, including words and phrases for all sorts of occasions. I couldn't wait to try out these stamps when they arrived and they stamp so perfectly giving a brilliant chalkboard finish -  check out my sample sheets below to see all the stamps included.

We couldn't resist one of her tote bags either that was going at a reduced price on QVC - this is not part of her new range of bags but it includes so many of the similar pretty colours from the 'Grace' collection I had to include it in our post.

Be sure to check out our 'Beautiful Cards' board on Pinterest for some stunning card ideas using some of Anna Griffin's new 'Grace' collection. And be sure to check out QVC for plenty more Anna Griffin products including an exclusive Cuttlebug machine and embossing folders.

NEW WORKSHOP! Collage Photo Frame

Our new workshop for 2014 is finally here and we are so excited! It has taken a while to put this workshop together mainly because we have had a busy start to our personal lives this year and now that everything is back on the straight and narrow for now, we can breathe and bring you a new project.

I think this is a little different to previous projects we have made, mainly because its not outwardly vintage, which is our usual style. I have been influenced lately by a lot of new scrapbooking projects including the new Project Life phenomenon so I wanted to create a project that would let you decorate the frame in a style that suits your personality. So if you like vintage then you could easily add lots of vintage imagery, lace and ephemera or perhaps you like a more fun modern look with more words and phrases to embellish your photos. Either way we can cater for both!

The frame we used for this project is a Kaisercraft picture frame  - approx 13" x 13" with 9 picture frames.

We wanted to add a few techniques within the workshop as well which will include Wendy Vecchi's embossing pastes which will give results such as the following.....

and also Adirondack alcohol inks to give results such as this......

Since we have only recently decorated our living room at home we are always on the look out at the moment for projects that we can incorporate photos in and use to hang around the room. These frames are starting to become addictive and I am now reaching out to my Tim Holtz configuration tray to perhaps decorate that in the same way - so watch out for a further example to get you inspired.

More details about the workshop can be found on our Workshops page - so don't delay and book today!
