Hi bloggers, welcome to our review of our workshop from Saturday... Clipboard Memories. As a reminder this workshop involved altering an ordinary wooden clipboard with papers, inks, paints, die cuts and plenty of embellishments - a great alternative to displaying a photo in a photo frame!
The first workshop of 2015 went incredibly well and as always we want to thank all the lovely ladies that came (really need to take a group photo) and created some beautiful creations. Just before the workshop we decided to invest in an 8ft table so that we could get everyone sitting together round one big table down the centre of our living room which worked perfectly.
As usual all the places were laid out with all the relevant materials needed for the workshop.
And the key ingredient to any successful workshop.... plenty of tea and cake!
So do you want to see some finished pieces? (Hell yeah!) Then let's bring it on....
Cathy's Clipboard - great pop of colour with wonderful flourishes and butterflies....
and a wonderful use of colour on her flowers, created using distress ink pads and water.
Georgia's Clipboard.....
love the use of music sheet tissue paper on the clip!
Heidi's Clipboard - full of lots of beautiful butterflies....
absolutely love this effect Heidi created on her clip by using dabs of alcohol ink on top of the paint, looks really aged and distressed!
Jill's Clipboard - new to our craft workshops, Jill did a fabulous job and created some beautiful flowers....
another effect that you could do on the clip was to simply add alcohol ink to the metal which creates this wonderful rustic look to the board.
Pauline's Clipboard - loving the stencilling effects on this board!
The colour effects on these flowers are also superb!
Oceaniana's Clipboard - love the collage style to this board
Diana's Clipboard - love the red and brown colour tones to this board....
and once again some stunning flowers painted in beautiful tones of pink.
Zoe's Clipboard - another fantastic collage style to this board....
Jane's Clipboard -a fantastic combination of layers and stencilling....
Jane also used some glossy accents to fill in her label plate at the top which gave a fantastic marbled effect as it started to dry.
Julie's Clipboard - once again a fantastic palette of colours with a lovely Spring feel to it....
Well that's all 10 clipboards and I love to see the broad range of results. It's amazing to think how we infuse our own personal style and creativity into whatever we are making as everyone started off with exactly the same kit but created such different results....amazing! Looking forward to the next workshop already!
