Hi everyone, it's been about a month since our last post where we celebrated our 9th year of this Vintage Follie blog. I wanted to give you guys a little update on what we've been up to over these past few weeks as our posts on our crafty creations have been some what non existent.
Back to work
So one of the big changes has been that I have now gone back to work as shops have started to re-open and getting use to a different way of working has taken a while to adjust to and is also slightly tiring with all the new processes we now have to remember. Being on my feet for 8 hours a day has also been a shock to the system! The overall experience has been positive and it's definitely nice to get back to a working routine and some sort of normality. However that being said, it is taking up more of my time which I was previously using for crafting!
Whilst mum hasn't been at work she has been inundated with mask orders lately from friends and family which has kept her very busy! But since it is still a form of crafting it's been keeping mum going and she is obviously keen to get everyone wearing masks.
A new family member
In addition to making masks, mum has also been busy welcoming a new member to our family, Pippi.
Mum adopted Pippi from the Cats Protection League last week and she has already settled in so well and has made herself at home. I'm sure she will be well adored by our workshop attendees in the future!
Garden Renovations
So when I'm not at work a project that has been keeping me busy (and fit!) is my front and back gardens. Both were a hideous weed patch when we moved in about 18 months ago and this year we decided to finally tackle the beasts! Lockdown enabled us to get a foothold on clearing the gardens but getting any sort of transformation accomplished has taken time and patience. We are now on the home stretch for the front garden which I will reveal to you next week. However the back garden will take a little while longer before we see any big successes!
Workshop Projects
We would like to say a big thank you to those of you who purchased our Trinket Tin project last month and we have seen a couple of finished tins which we think look amazing and we are so happy that you have enjoyed making this project at home. Unfortunately progress for the next project has been slow and we have had difficulty finding projects that are good value for money and that are easy to re-create at home. We don't want to to sacrifice the quality of our projects and so want to take our time to provide you with the best project we can. We are working through several ideas and hope to be able to release a new project very soon!
Wedding Plans
At the end of June me and Conor celebrated one year since we got engaged and with nearly only 9 months to go until the big day we are starting to get back on track to organise as much as we can for the big day! Fingers crossed we can have the wedding we want and celebrate with a party to end all parties..... but whatever happens we will make the most of our special day! I'm currently experimenting with wedding invitation designs, favour ideas and more! All will be shared in a Wedding Series I plan to post on the blog next year after the wedding. No spoilers I'm afraid!
So that is our summary of the past few weeks and I hope to share a couple of crafty projects over the next few weeks which I've just about had time to fit in when I'm not in the garden!
We hope everyone is still staying safe and well and are able to emerge from a lockdown world in a way that brings back some sort of normality to your lives.
