Halloween Inspiration

The haunted season is upon us this week and what better way to get into the spooky mood then by creating some seasonal crafting projects. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to get into the Halloween spirit this time round but my sister has been working hard on a couple of projects which I am going to share with you today.

First up is a Halloween Matchbox using a Graphic 45 matchbook box.

This project would make an ideal gift for someone at Halloween. You could fill it with some spooky choccies and once they have all been eaten its a box that can come out year after year to put more chocolates in or simply to use as a gift box for perhaps an even more elaborate gift.

Materials used:
Graphic 45 Staples Small Matchbook Box
Rangers Distress Paint - Black Soot
Graphic 45 Staples Antique Metal Door Pull
May Arts Satin Cutouts - Orange Pumpkins Ribbon
Authentique - Thrilling - 12"x12" Details Sticker Sheet
Authentique - Thrilling - Superstition Paper
Dovecraft - A4 Premium Glitter Card - Black
Zva Creative - Enchanting - Jet Crystal
Woodware Super Lever Craft Punch - Funky Star 2"

The second project is a Halloween Configuration Box.

These boxes are fabulous for anytime of the year and make great decorations around the house - something to add as a centerpiece to a table or to adorn your mantelpiece.
A Tim Holtz configuration box, size 5.75" x 10.75" has been used in this example but there are other sizes available. All you need to do is keep an eye out for tiny spooky treasures that you can fill the box up with and then hang some decorative webbing around the box for extra effect!

If you fancy having a go at making a configuration box I do have a class coming up on 9th November, whereby you can make either an Original Vintage box or a Christmas theme box. More details can be found on the Workshops at Home page.

I would like to thank my sister Joanne for forwarding on some Halloween inspiration and if you want to check out any other ideas, be sure to check out her Pinterest page, just click here.
