Easter Crafting Inspiration: Easter Scene Jar

Out of all our Easter projects this one is probably the most complex and involves quite a few different elements but once you get started you will find it hard to stop. You will just want to keep adding more and more....

The fun part of this project is that you can add some lights inside the jar and as we know, everything looks much better with the added feature of LED lights!

On the front of the jar we used a clear sticker from LaBlanche. These stickers can adhere to the jar and also be easily peeled off again. So if you make a mistake when positioning on the jar you can easily peel off and re-align again!

As you can see from above we have created a scene inside the jar using some wooden bunny embellishments alongside some moss and mini plastic speckled eggs. We also added some paper flower embellishments and a piece of faux blossom garland.

We finished off the top of the jar with a nest made from twine and added some more wooden bunny embellishments and miniature speckled eggs.

Materials Needed:

Clear Jar (we used an old Kilner jar)

Tiny LED Lights (many eBay sellers)

Faux Blossom Garland

Additional Supplies:

Hot Glue Gun

Tweezers

Tissue Paper

How to Make:

1. Choose your main decorative sticker that you want to use on the front of the jar and adhere to your jar. Use some of the smaller stickers around the outside of your jar for added decoration.

2. If the bottom of your jar is not very level you might want to add a small bit of tissue paper to the bottom to help create a flat surface.

3. Wrap a long length of twine around the top of the jar and tie a bow.

4. Cut a length of your blossom garland and make a circle with it that will fit in the bottom of the jar. Wrap the LED lights around the garland and place it in the bottom of the jar with the wire from the lights coming up at the back of the jar. Adhere the wire in place at the top of the jar using a glue gun and add a small flower.

5. Then use the glue gun again to adhere the battery pack to the back of the jar.

6. Choose a couple of different sizes of bunnies from your pack and glue them in place inside the jar.

7. Add some moss using tweezers and glue in place some mini speckled eggs and flowers.

8. To make the lid, wrap some twine around 3 fingers to make a nest shape. Leave a little extra twine at the end which you can use to wrap around the nest to hold it in place. Use a glue gun to adhere the nest to the lid.

9. Add some bunnies, eggs, flowers and a bit of blossom branch and glue in place.

10. Then simply place the lid on top of the jar and you are finished.

This is a great project to give someone as a gift at Easter and it will definitely be a piece of home decor you will want to get out year after year!
